Studio M Upstairs is pleased to offer NEW public workshops:
Open to health professionals and the general public. These workshops are appropriate for both beginning and ongoing students where we will apply the Anat Baniel Method for resolving pain and restoring full human function. This system of neuro-musculo-skeletal education is based on the Feldenkrais Method. Through fun, pleasurable, and interesting movement "tune-ups" you will rewind the clock and restore vitality and youthfulness to your body and mind. Please join us.
Monday 12:00-1:00 p.m. May 5 through June 9, 2014 except for Memorial Day 5/26. Restore comfort and ease, lose the discomfort and strain. In this workshop, appropriate for new students (ongoing can also join), you will begin to explore the Baniel Method, learn basic principles of the nervous system (what drives you) and immediately feel the results throughout your body. You will be lying, sitting, or standing. This is a 5-week/once per week course.
#2 Enlivened & Embodied Awareness:
Wednesday 12:00-1:00 p.m. May 7 through June 11, 2014. Learn how the experiential practice of Transformational Movement Lessons contributes richly to a personal practice of self-inquiry and self-development. These lessons are unrivaled as a mode of becoming more embodied. Learning to be in the present moment opens you up to opportunities that you might otherwise miss. A 6-week/once per week course.
#3 A Supple, Supportive Spine:
Friday 12:00-1:00 p.m. May 9 through June 13, 2014. In this workshop you will regain the natural freedom, range, and length of your spine by learning how to apply attentional movement strategies to reduce the quirks and kinks that tighten you and your back. Lessons will include slow, small movements as well as large, fast actions. A 6-week/once per week course.
Saturday, May 17, 2014 1:00-4:00 p.m.
In this workshop you will explore and refine how you move. Realize how the ways you move, act, and think cause pain and make graceful and effortless your movements. This is an opportune time to regain your vitality and strength, expand the use of yourself, stop repeating the habits that keep you stuck and hurting. Learn how to spontaneously respond to ever-changing circumstances. Food and beverage will be provided.
