the Anat Baniel Method
I hope that you all enjoyed your Independence Day holiday. I had a terrific day with family and friends, I reeeaaallly enjoyed the Bicentennial exhibit at the museum. Go see it if you haven't yet. After attending the rodeo I thought about how many athletes of all sorts I could expose to the Anat Baniel Method, so many people who probably aren't aware of it at all and are walking around in pain. This is not only for athletes but also for anyone who wants to overcome pain and limitations. Once we've experienced any injury, trauma, painful experiences it's important that we "clear out" the residual effects. Often we can get back to a certain level of ability to "carry on", but we don't fully surpass the obstacles as well as we could and with each attempt to get "back to normal" we make one step forward and two steps back. Sound familiar? We also end up with a load of habits that create more problems in the future. "Yesterday's solution becomes today's problem". For example, one day you step on a nail and begin to limp. Years later unknowingly still limping, your back begins to hurt. Most people wouldn't recognize that you're limping, but an Anat Baniel Method practitioner would. Or, a rodeo rider falls not only once but many times and eventually his back or hips get painful. This is the body's way of getting our attention so that we do something about it. This method addresses your life-long movement habits to get to the core of your problem. Try a group class on one of the 3 days each week at our movement studio, or immerse in all 6 lessons this month, and/or indulge yourself with an hour long private session.
